- T-Mobile offers UrbanWorld Wireless first ever "ringtone deal." Dj Kid Capri & E40 become amongst the first to sign to UrbanWorld to create original content for mobile.
- ABC Radio’s Doug Bank Show Goes UrbanWorld Wireless! On-air personalities Doug Banks and company report entertainment news powered by UrbanWorld direct from their mobile device over the air.
- Priority Records Does a Mobile Marketing campaign, "Snoop Dogg Goes UrbanWorld Wireless!" Album release party sms promotion in NYC.
- UrbanWorld Wireless executes a 10 day mobile marketing campaign entitled "Spread The World!" for the debut of Comedy Central's 'Chappelle Show.'
- UrbanWorld Wireless continues mobile marketing for various Priority/Capitol Records artist including Chingy, Beastie Boys, WestSide Connection ft Ice Cube, WC, Mack 10, Faith Evans.

2002
- After a year of testing, UrbanWorld News is streamed across Motorola Reflex technology and begins pushing news content to opt in subscribers. Beta test club included a plethora of West Coast Hip Hop artist ranging from Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube to E40.
- On-Air Personality Adimu of Los Angeles radio station 100.3 The Beat, breaks a UrbanWorld News story over the air. UrbanWorld News becomes a recognized source of news amongst various radio station including San Francisco’s KMEL and New Yorks Hot 97.
- Tommy Boy Records becomes the first music label to try out a mobile marketing campaign with UrbanWorld Wireless promoting the release of De La Soul AOI Bionix
2001
- After departing from Flynt Publication's, Rap Page Magazine, Founder Mike Johns started UrbanWorld Wireless.
- The Birth Hip Hop's Digital Era begins. Hip Hop embraces mobile technology; urban youth loves Motorola 2 Way Pager. Mobile phones are included in the lyrics & music videos of Hip Hops biggest artist including Jay-Z and Three Six Mafia.
- Def Jam Artist Montel Jordan's "Get It On Tonite" becomes the first Hip Hop video to integrate mobile using the Motorola 2Way Pager
